Hudson River Flight

Today, that really freaked me out! Thankfully, everyone survived that crash! It freaks me out because on a flight out of DFW about 7 years ago, a bird struck my flight. I was on my way to meet my husband at a judo tourney in Las Vegas and boom - right after take off, while still ascending, there was a loud noise and a jolt. Well, as some of you know (and more embarrassingly, have witnessed) I am terrified of flying! The pilot calmly told us that a bird had struck the plane and we were flying with one engine. We were to circle and dump fuel and return back to DFW. I made a fool of myself crying! Seriously, people were staring! As we landed, I looked down on the runway and saw firetrucks and ambulances and police cars. It was scary. We were all fine and the pilot landed it beautifully. And after a glass of wine ( :) ) I boarded another plane to Las Vegas! I really wanted to see my husband! On our way back, there were several people who were on the original flight that said "aren't you the girl that was freaking out on the flight out here?" I really made an impression!!

Anyway, I was watching all of the news coverage on the flight today just in awe. I am so glad that God watched over all of those people and had His hand on that pilot. Truely a miracle!
